Obituary of Dorothy H. Friedmann
Dorothy H. Friedmann, 88, of Stamford, NY passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2015.
Dorothy was born in Manhattan, New York City on September 23, 1927, the youngest child of Thresa (Putanko) and Daniel Kurutz. She was a graduate of James Monroe High School in the Bronx. Dorothy was then employed by RCA in Manhattan, NYC, where she met John ("Jack") H. Friedmann. They were married on January 18, 1948 and lived in New York City until 1949 before moving to Stamford, Jack's home town, where they raised two children. She was an employee of Stamford Central School in various capacities, retiring in the early 1980s. Dorothy lived a full and energetic life, which was enriched by a happy, loving marriage and many friendships. She was closely affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford and loved tennis, which she played into her late 70s.
Dorothy is survived by daughter Catherine Friedmann of Utica, NY; granddaughter Larissa Pauly (Justin) of Severn, MD; grandson Michael Sharshon of Bennington, VT; favorite niece Diane Kohler (Alan) of Jackson, NJ; many cousins, nieces, & nephews; and many good and special friends. Her beloved cats, Scooter and Punkin, have been adopted by family members.
Dorothy was predeceased by husband, John ("Jack") in 2008, and by daughter Cindy Sharshon (Friedmann) in 2007.

Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford, NY.
