Obituary of Christopher Mark DiCorato
Christopher Mark DiCorato, born on June 24, 1967, in the Bronx, New York, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 23, 2024, in Davenport, New York. He was 57 years old.
Christopher spent his formative years in the vibrant boroughs of New York City, primarily in Queens and the Bronx. He left high school early and successfully earned his GED.
In his late twenties, he moved to Jefferson, New York, seeking the tranquility of country life to raise his daughters. During this time, he discovered his passion for Real Estate and became a successful Licensed Real Estate Broker all while navigating the many challenges of life as a single dad. Later, he settled in Harpersfield, New York, where he lovingly cared for his aging mother while continuing his successful career with Coldwell Banker Timberland Properties in Stamford, New York. It was during that time he met the love of his life, Jodie Bender.
Christopher was a man who cherished life’s simple pleasures. He found joy in sitting on the back porch he built with the help of friends and family, savoring a glass of bourbon or tequila, smoking a cigar, and blasting music on his JBL speaker. He delighted in watching the sunrise, talking to the birds, and forming bonds with local wildlife—deer often visited him in search of apples and corn. A passionate gardener, Christopher shared daily updates with his family on his garden’s progress throughout the summer months. He found joy in cooking and baking and vowed to create a homestead making his own jams, cream cheese, breads and more. Most importantly, to those he loved, he was the kind of man who was always on call—the go-to guy whenever something went wrong.
He is survived by his beloved daughters Gabriella DiCorato and Christina DiCorato, his loving partner Jodie Bender, his niece Angela DiCorato and his nephew John DiCorato. He was predeceased by his older brother Jeffrey DiCorato, and his father Angelo DiCorato. Within days of his passing, his mother, Monica Stancanelli-Leggio, passed away peacefully in the hospital with her loved ones by her side.
Christopher’s warmth, love for nature and delight in the simple things in life left an indelible mark on all who knew him because to him, every day was a good day no matter what it may bring. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. May his memory serve as a reminder to find beauty in life’s quiet, simple moments.
