William "Willie" Lofstad
1934 - 2023
Condolences
Dear Bonnie and Family,
Cathy and I and our kids were so sad to hear of Willie's passing. These things always come to soon and are so hard to understand and accept. I think back as a young boy with my father and brothers visiting Willie at the house in Captree and helping out with the bait pens and other jobs that to us were so much fun because they were so different. Willie was always so kind to us and happy to see us whether is was at Captree or elsewhere on Long Island or at the upstate house. Also willing to help out, and with a smile. My kids remember his help up there with snowplowing and helping with the house as we remember also. I hope that the great memories you have if Willie and his life can help get you all though these tough times, sometimes with tears but also with smiles and laughter. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Kirk, Cathy and the kids
Dear Bonnie and Family, I'm so sorry to hear about Willie's passing. We always had fun chatting during trips to "The Island" for burials. I will always remember him fondly. He was a great person and a skilled carpenter. Thinking of you all.
I am so incredibly saddened to hear your news. I do want you to know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers. Your family is incredible and made a lasting impression in my life with treasured memories of growing up, prom nights and soccer games. In some capacity I thought of Mr. Lofstad as I was oddly thinking of my childhood home in South Kortright recently- he had replaced the roof. He was always smiles and so fun to talk with. Know your in my heart and prayers. Kristin Parenteau

Willie will be MISSED! One of the most helpful guys you would ever meet. ALWAYS helping someone!
Willie was our neighbor in Islip. I had a boat and loved fishing, Willie knew ever inch of the Great South Bay and shared with all.
I remember Willie tell me that he did not need a compass to run in the fog, he would follow the bottom
