Condolences
To All of Gert’s Family:
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. There is so much to say about Gert, she was a loving, caring and giving lady and will be sadly missed by all. Working with Gert was a pleasure and watching her crochet and knit was fascinating. I never will forget I was in the hospital as a patient and had told her I would like to learn to crochet a sweater for my little boy. She says I will show you it is easy. She got me started and by the next afternoon I had almost half a sweater done. I was so proud of it. It really looked like a sweater. So Gert comes in to see me she says oh that looks great Deb except here. I missed a stitch. I said nobody will ever notice that. Well she started pulling it out clear back to my missed stitch. I am say Gert what are you doing she said it’s got to be right. Well it looked like a big block of yarn laying there. She started me out again I got about as far as a half a sweater again, got discharged from the hospital had that piece of sweater for years. It was never completed. But it always gave us laughs years later talking about my crocheting anything beside square afghan blocks. That lady would eat lunch quick then get out her crocheting and she looked like a machine whipping those needles around. Then she gave her beautiful crochet masterpieces away. Thank you Gert for your friendship and love. That’s only one story she was such a beautiful lady. Love you Gert.
