Dearest Mildred or Lee as I always called you-
Who would have thought all those many years ago that because our husbands became friends on the CB's, that we would become BEST friends.
Over all those years, almost 40, we shared so many things. We comforted each other when we sensed the need for it. We shared secrets that only we knew about. We talked about our faith and their differences. We cried with each other during periods of sorrow. We rejoiced on the many happy occasions we shared. BUT, most of all, we shared our laughter and our love as only best friends can. We became one family through our friendship.
I have a hole in my heart and I will never be quite the same because of it. I miss you and will for the rest of my life. I hope you hear me when I have the need to share a secrets.
The hours (3 to 4 of them) that we spent talking on the phone were the best. What did we talk about all that time? EVERYTHING! From kids to politics to GOD and his Son.
I know that you went right up to heaven because you were the best. I know I am a better person because of having shared some of my life with you. You are finally free of all your pain. Even though you never complained.
