Obituary of Ralph L. Hoag
DELHI
Ralph Louis Hoag, 77, of Delhi, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Countryside Care Center in Delhi.
He was born on June 22, 1934 in Delhi, the son of Ralph A. and Laura (Riddell) Hoag.
A life-long area resident, Ralph grew up working as a farmer and eventually became employed as a custodian at SUNY Delhi, retiring after more than 25 years of service. After retiring from the college he went on to work for Delaware Academy until health issues prevented him from working.
Ralph is survived by 4 sons, Charles and Debra Wilson of Virginia, Harry and Rose Wilson of Lindley, Robert and Donna Wilson of Florida, and David and Sue Wilson of Fort Plains; 1 daughter, Loretta and Paul Ballard of California; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Don and Marguerite Hoag of Delhi; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will take place at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi, on Thursday, February 9, 2012 beginning at 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. when a memorial service will take place with Rev. EJ Lowell of the Downsville Alliance Church officiating.
Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Contributions in Ralph's memory are asked to be made to Catskill Area Hospice or to a charity of one's choice.
