Obituary of Charles Brower
STAMFORD — Charles (Red) Brower, 80, of Stamford, passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.
He was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Stamford, the son of Elmer and Elsie (Becker) Brower.
He married Shirley Benson, who predeceased him on Aug. 21, 2009.
A veteran of the United States Army he served from 1952 to 1954. Red worked as an auto mechanic at Engelke's Garage in Stamford and served for many years as judge in the town of Harpersfield.
He is survived by three children, Charles and Linda Goss of Stamford, Debbie and John Keife of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Bonnie Goss-Colone and Paul Beisler of Milford; grandson, Jesse Baumann of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Rose Ciuto.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the Hobart Presbyterian Church, Hobart, with the Rev. Bert More officiating.
Burial will be in the spring in Stamford Cemetery, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware County Humane Society or Stamford Fire Department.
