Obituary of Margaret Smith

Bloomville Margaret (Peg) A. Smith, 80 of Bloomville died Sunday May 26, 2013 unexpectedly at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY surrounded by her family. She was born July 18, 1932 in Bloomville the daughter of Fred Sr. and Susan (Smith) Hitt. She married Harold Smith Sr. of Delhi on December 28, 1953 in South Carolina. Peg was an avid bird and car watcher from her picture window. She loved completing puzzles and word searches. Most of all she loved her family. Peg is predeceased by her husband Harold Sr., "Baby Smith", her parents Fred and Susan, two brothers, James, Fred Jr., a sister Mae Sandin. She is survived by a son, Harold, Jr. and Dee Smith; a daughter Vivian and Jeff Schafer; grandchildren, Eliza Barnhart, Seth Smith, Danielle and Leslie Schafer, Melissa, Kiley, Samantha, Ashley and Kimberly Cotese. Also great grandchildren, Brayden Barnhart, Taylor, Lana, Arianna, Sage, Carlee, Brody, Billie, Noel and Katey and her sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Anna Martin; sisters-in-law, Trudy Colvin and Donna Hitt; her brothers, Samuel of Florida, John of Virginia and Melvin Hitt and spouses as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to greet the family from 7-9pm on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi, NY. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2:00pm with Rev. Darius Mojallali of St. John's Episcopal Church, Delhi, NY in the Mac Arthur Funeral Home, Delhi. Burial will follow the service in Riverside Cemetery, Bloomville, NY.
