At that time she continued doing evaluations and parent training. Then again when the El program was cut yet again, not willing to leave the field she loved so much, Marcy continued to look for work in the field until her Cancer removed any chance of her working again. Marcy had much love for her coworkers Honey Bee and Sharon.
Marcy is survived by her husband James Barr Sr., of Hobart; her son James Jr. (Roseanne) Barr of Selden, NY; her daughter Cheryl Barr of Hobart, NY; her son Richard (Holly) Barr of Chicago, IL; as well as their 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Marcy's passions were her loving husband, children, students, kids of any kind, people, dancing, motorcycle riding and her jewelry.
An avid planner and perfectionist at heart, Marcy took so much joy from planning events and parties that brought smiles to everyone. Marcy truly felt it was always more enjoyable giving than receiving. Marcy felt blessed that she had time left on the earth to hear the wonderful things from all of her friends and family that usually only get said at funerals. She is so grateful for all her friends and family that made her life a truly enjoyable one. That is why she is choosing to have an open house at MacArthur Funeral Home, in Hobart on Thursday, August 29, 2013, for her friends to gather from 6-9pm and at 7:30 a time to hear her last words and offer up any tidbit you would like to share. Donations to Hospice greatly appreciated. They were all so wonderful to Marcy till the end.
