Harriet and I were two of the graduates of Grand Gorge Central School in 1957. I am saddened to hear of her passing and pray that her family and those who loved her will be comforted.

I have many fond memories of Harriet during her time at Stamford Central School. For a number of years I was at the school several times a week as a volunteer and a substitute teacher. It would be hard to say which made a greater impression, Harriet's cheerfulness or her knowledge. She and her colleague, Sandy Ferris, could answer any question put to them: if one didn't know the answer, the other did. They always knew exactly what was going on. And they unfailingly provided service with a smile, which I'm sure was a challenge more often than any onlooker could have guessed. Harriet was truly a person to admire.
