Obituary of Marion C. Procida
BLOOMVILLE Surrounded by her family, on July 15, 2014 Marion Catherine Procida went to be with the Lord. She was born January 28, 1923 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Angelina and Salvatore Chiaramonte. The youngest of ten children, she had 5 sisters and 4 brothers. Marion met Gregory Procida and they wed November 15, 1942 in Flatbush, Brooklyn. They had 3 daughters. She was predeceased by her 5 sisters, 4 brothers, her husband Gregory, and daughter Angela. Marion was a dedicated daughter to her mother and father until they passed. Marion was a homebody and enjoyed making people happy. She was a loving wife, the best mother a child could ever ask for and a caring grandmother. She was a fantastic cook and always had enough for anyone who stepped through the door. Marion enjoyed dancing; she won several 1st place trophies. She also loved her chocolates. She would laugh so hard, she could make anyone around her laugh. She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Enes; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and close family friends. She left a lasting impression with everyone she came in touch with. Marion will be missed immensely. A special thank you goes out to the hospice nurses who helped care for Marion. She is the "longest person to be on hospice" record holder. Calling hours will take place today, Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Church, Stamford, with Rev. Michael Cambi as celebrant.
