Condolences
I just learned of Harry's passing and was deeply saddened by the news. We both went to Sewanhaka, Harry a year ahead, and both Vietnam vets in combat. Last I saw Harry was at Russell Baum's home in Vermont back in the early 70's. I remember giving him my Army duffle bag. My sincere condolences to the family; he is a good soul --God Bless.
Dear Mrs. Nissen, Kira and family and relatives to Mr. Nissen,
There is little left to say that hasn't already been said about Mr. Nissen. He was a great shop teacher (though he was rightfully frightened when I was working with those power tools and soldering) with an incredible amount of patience. He was a fantastic coach and a wonderful human being. He was held in high esteem as is his family. I was blessed to be able to see him when I returned from NC and will cherish our short, heartfelt conversation where he told me to "never give up." He didn't. Blessed are we that were a part of his life. Please know that my prayers go to all of you as well as my deepest sympathies. Please know hugs are always available. Love, Amy and children
Harry and I served in Vietnam together with Charlie Co 1/5th Mech Inf. 2-3 squad. We nicknamed him "Giant" for he was not only the biggest guy in the platoon but he also had the biggest heart and the biggest laugh. He was a brave soldier. He was my friend. He was my brother.
So sorry to hear about Harrys passing. I enjoyed his company so much. The many times I was with him he made me feel as a friend, even though he was my sisters friend. He will be missed by many who knew him.
I am so sorry for your loss. May the words in John 6:40 be of hope to you.
Harry was a good man and a power of example for so many. I had the upmost respect for Harry and his entire family. May God bless you all and may Harry rest in eternal peace.
Jamie OD.
