Obituary of Carolyn Hazel Miller Jones

Carolyn Hazel Miller Jones, 76 of Hamden, New York passed away August 1, 2015 after a brief, unexpected illness. She was born July 28, 1939, the daughter of Agnes McDonald and Clyde Miller in Hamden. She is survived by a brother, Dennis Miller of Hamden, a sister-in-law Janice Miller of Hamden, nephew Dennis Miller and niece Rebecca Miller, also from Hamden and many other nieces and nephews. Carolyn was a wonderful woman who spent a good portion of her life taking care of people, whether when she was working at the Infirmary in her younger days, caring for her parents when they were older, even bringing in the mail for neighbors. She was an avid reader, devouring as many books as she could until her eyesight started to fail; she also loved completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles with her mother and cousin Judi. Carolyn cared deeply for her family and friends, never having any children of her own, she always loved having kids in the house. She was also a great lover of animals, especially the dogs that lived with her, who she cared for and spoke fondly of to everyone. No matter how she was feeling she was always trying to take care of someone or bring a smile to someone's face, even when she was the one who could use a little care. With her passing she leaves an empty space in our lives that could never be filled. She will be deeply missed. Services for Carolyn will be held at the Hamden Cemetery on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10am. The family would like to welcome anyone that would like to come celebrate the life of this wonderful woman. The family also asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Catskill Humane Society in Delhi in memory of Carolyn M. Jones.
