Obituary of Wallace J. Heannings

Wallace J. "Wally" Heannings, 74, of Andes passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2015 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi. Born on March 13, 1941 in Harpersfield, the son of the late Wesley and Letha (Lewis) Heannings. From the age of 4, Wally lived on the family farm in Andes. He was also a 1959 graduate of Andes Central School. Wally was married to Phyllis Briscoe Heannings on April 14, 1961 in Andes. He owned and operated the family dairy, Heannings Farm in Andes for his entire life. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Besides his beloved wife, Phyllis, he is survived by seven children: David(Carolyn) Heannings of Unadilla, Sandra(Michael) McAdams of Andes, Andrew (Lisa) Heannings of Arkville, Kevin(Margie) Heannings of East Meredith, Brenda(Steven) Martin of Fort Campbell, KY, Roxanne Heannings-Wager of Delhi and Jay (Alicia) Heannings of Jefferson; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several friends. Besides his parents, Wally was predeceased by a grandson: Garrett P. Wager. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Monday, December 7, 2015 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Delhi. Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, December 8th at the Cabin Hill Presbyterian Church, 7615 County Highway 2, DeLancey(Andes) with the Lay Pastor Deb Fleming, officiating.
