Obituary of Ethel Bedford

North Harpersfield, NY Ethel Bedford, 89, of North Harpersfield, passed away peacefully late Sunday afternoon, December 6, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on November 24, 1926 in North Blenheim, Ethel was the daughter of the late Jerome and Pearl (Markle) Joslyn. She was married on October 3, 1948 to Harold E. Bedford. She was a homemaker and assisted Harold with the family dairy farm. Ethel was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church and she was member of Col. Harper Grange for over 60 years. She is survived by her husband, Harold Bedford; Children: Russell (Laurie) Bedford and Doris (Anthony) Thayer all of North Harpersfield; one granddaughter: Katlin Bedford of Ocala, FL and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her brothers: Nelson and Walter Joslyn; and a sister: Ruth Keyser. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave, Hobart, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 10, 2015 with the Rev. Stephen Shick officiating. Burial will follow at West Jefferson Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Ethel may be made to Jefferson United Methodist Church or to Catskill Area Hospice.
