Obituary of Joseph J. Busche

Joseph J. Busche, 75, of South Kortright, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, December 17, 2015 at AO Fox Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born on April 18, 1940 in Passaic, NJ, Joseph was the son of the late Michael and Josephine (Furmanek) Busche. Mr. Busche proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard. He was married to Susan J. Busche on January 31, 1981 at the former Church of the Most Precious Blood in South Kortright. Joseph retired from the Allen Residential Center in South Kortright where he worked as a Youth Counselor. Joe was a collector of many things and had a great interest in model trains. He also enjoyed gardening and landscaping, and was proud of his Gravely tractors. Joe had a special talent being able to record and figure statistics and then apply them to his everyday life. He was also quite an inventor and especially as his health declined he designed simple solutions to maintain his independence. Above all else Joe was a loving husband and a proud father. He is survived by his wife, Susan of South Kortright; children: Stephen (John Palmer) Busche of Menands, Betsy (Robert Cross) Busche of West Winfield, and Sarah Busche of South Kortright; a brother: Michael Busche of Sparta, NJ; nephew and niece: Jeff and Lauren; and many close friends. A Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Stamford, Burial with full military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford.
