Obituary of Arnold Keith Dibble

Arnold Keith Dibble, May 30, 1932 -March 13, 2017 Son of Joseph Isaac and Mildred (All) Dibble. Survived by his Loving wife and partner Ruth (Beach). They met at a dance in November and married in June the next year 58 years ago. They continued their dance through life and were blessed with the birth of their daughter Carolyn who predeceased him in September of 2015. He is also survived by their daughter Lorraine (Claude) Desabrais of Tupper Lake NY. Son Keith (Karin) of Johnson City NY, Wesley (Darcy) Chemung NY. Grandchildren Brandon, Tyler, Matthew, Katherine, and Alexandria Dibble. Jordan (Alicia) and Jessica Galusha and great grandson Carter. Son in law Dominick Bucca, Jacksonville Florida. Sister Wilma Miller, "Brother " George Bronson. Sister in laws Margaret Grant, Elfreda Beach, Eugenia Dibble and Frances Darrah. He also is survived by Willie (Hait) Palmer who always looked up to him and called him Dad. Uncle Arnold was greatly loved by all of his nieces and nephews as he helped mentor and guide them in life. Many special friends enjoyed his company as they played cards and camped together. Arnold's love for sports found him at many athletic events cheering on young local athletes and following their careers. Traveling to Alaska, Western National Parks, Oregon and a cruise on the Mississippi River are some of the highlights that he and Ruth enjoyed together. Arnold was an accomplished farmer, received the outstanding farmer of the year award. He was the president of the Artificial Breeders and served on the Ayrshire sire committee. Arnold was also councilman and committee chairman for Agway. He loved farm life and the strong family bond that we continue to share. He bought the family farm soon after he married, and as his career blossomed he purchased the farm and land just down the road. After farming, he worked for green thumb and the Hobart activity center for 18 years. He loved the children and enjoyed giving them gifts each Christmas. He was a member and elder at the Hobart Presbyterian Church, and worked on the board of elections for years. He was a member of the milk association and an active Rotarian. His proudest times were the years that he was a member and past president of the Hobart fire department. He also drove ambulance for 15 years. He is predeceased by his parents, daughter Carolyn, Sisters Helen (Ernest Riggs) Georgia (Marshal Worden) Leota (William Wright) and Arlene. Brothers Chauncey (Dorothy) Theodore, Leonard (Caryl) and Frederic. Brother in laws Allan Beach, Ferdinand Cook, George Grant, Horace Miller. In laws Ethel and Almeron Beach. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Hobart Presbyterian Church, 78 Maple Ave., Hobart, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Burial will be held later in the Spring at Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Arnold may be made to Hobart Fire and EMS or Catskill Area Hospice.
