Obituary of Rollie C. Kirby

DELHI - Rollie C. Kirby, 89, a longtime Delhi resident, died Monday evening, Sept 9, 2013, at his home, following an extended illness. Born Feb 15, 1924, in Ketchum, Oklahoma (Indian Territory), the son of Cyrus and Versia (Robertson) Kirby, he was proud of his Native American heritage. A WW II Army Air Corps veteran and retired, self-employed house mover and farmer, Rollie lived in Delhi 66-years. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Carolyn (Halliday) Kirby; 10 children, Jackie Knowles, Drew Kirby, Claudia D'Amico, Rollie Kirby, Jr., Debbie VanNostrand, Dale Kirby, Lynn Brooker, Kelly O'Sullivan, Michael Kirby, Jodie Furgerson; numerous grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be 11 am Saturday, Oct 12, with reception following, at the First Presbyterian Church, Delhi. Memorial contributions to Catskill Area Hospice will be appreciated.
