Obituary of Ernest P. Toften

Ernest P. "Ernie" Toften, 74, a 40-year Delhi resident, passed away peacefully, Wednesday night, Oct 9, 2013, at home, with his loving family at his side. Born Sept 21, 1939, in New Rochelle, the son of Ernest and Marie (Kenyon) Toften, he graduated from New Rochelle High School (1957), served in the U.S. Navy, aboard USS Davis (1962-1966), and was employed as a lineman for Delaware County Electric Co-Operative, 31 years, retiring 1999. Surviving are his loving wife, Kathy F. (Garrison) Toften; brother, George (Karen) Toften, of Middleburgh; daughter, April (Cory) Lentkowski, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Georgia and Katie Lenkowski; nieces and nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law. Services by Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi, are private, per Ernie's request. The family extends appreciation to Catskill Area Hospice for their brief, but wonderful care, especially Peggy Sue Saunders, who went "above and beyond". Memorial contributions to Catskill Area Hospice, 116 Main St, Delhi, will be appreciated
