Shirley helped me during my genealogy research of the Downs Family. She was enthusiastic and went out of her way to get documentation from Delaware County Surrogate Court regarding the estate of Abel Downs. Those estate papers helped me to finally successfully link Abel's son to the Mayflower Descendants. I traveled to Delhi from Florida and met Shirley in 2012, her enthusiasm was contagious. I regret she is not here to see how important her contribution to my work was.
