Obituary of Theodore G.J. Halstead

Theodore G. J. "Teddy" Halstead, Jr., 41, of East Meredith, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, with his wife and mom by his side following a battle with Leukemia. Born on April 16, 1973 in Sidney, the son of Theodore and Dottie (Johnson) Halstead, Sr., He was raised in Delhi and was a graduate of Delaware Academy. Teddy was a Master Glass Blower, making beautiful works of glass art. He owned and operated Jedi Glassworks for over 18years. He enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of the Catskill Trail Association. He loved rollercoasters and riding motorcycles. He was especially fond of his pets: his dog, Ryder and cats, Jang and Azzy. Teddy was predeceased by his father, Theodore Halstead, Sr.; grandparents: Gladys Halstead Holder and George and Dorothy Johnson Lichtfuss; and his aunt: Eleanor "Nonie" Shephard. He is survived by his wife: Tracy (Knapp) Halstead; mom: Dottie Johnson Halstead; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 11-1pm on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. Graveside services will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Co Route 10, Meridale at 2PM with the Rev. Bert More officiating. Teddy's family would like especially thank, Kim & John Shephard, Fred & Judy Knapp, Jason & Rachel Brisbane, Mary Hall and Jeanne Wilse for all the special care they showed during Teddy's illness.
