Obituary of Clayton L. Palmatier
Clayton L. Palmatier, 80, of DeLancey, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, January 23, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Born on October 11, 1936 in Hale Eddy, Clayton was the son of the late Horace and Ena (Sprague) Palmatier.
Mr. Palmatier proudly served in the US Army, and following his honorable discharge he continued in the NY Army National Guard Reserves obtaining the rank of Sergeant E5.
Clayton worked for SUNY Delhi in the maintenance department, retiring as head custodian.
He was an active member of the congregation at the First United Methodist Church in Walton for many years.
Clayton enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, hunting, but Clayton's greatest love was spending time with his family, he was a loving husband, devoted father and proud grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Palmatier; four children: Neil (Kristine), Glenn, Valerie and Stephen Palmatier; grandchildren: Noelle, Brianna, Katlyn, Ryan, Matthew, Krystina, Kimberly, Thomas, David, Kayla, Evan, Shane and Stephen, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Diem, Liam and Angelina; brother: Carlton; sister: Carolyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from noon until 2PM on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 101 North St., Walton, where a funeral service will follow at 2PM with the Rev. Dale Ashby officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place at 11AM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Walton Cemetery.

Clayton will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
