Obituary of Helen M. Stroppel

Helen M. Stroppel, 51, of Maggie Hoag Rd., passed away early Friday morning, February 6, 2015 after being overcome by a fire that destroyed her home. Born on December 22, 1963 in Glen Cove, Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Joseph and Ann Marie (Cerullo) Stroppel. Helen worked for over 25 years as an administrative assistant for the SUNY Delhi Campus Childcare Center. She enjoyed working with the children and the company of her colleagues. Helen will be remembered by all as an animal lover. Helen enjoyed the companionship of her many feline and canine friends. She also loved gardening, often tending to beautiful flowers. She is survived by her children: Morgan Stroppel and Cpl. Keith Stroppel (USMC) both of Delhi; a sister: Gail Boylan of Bear, Delaware; one brother: William Stroppel of Bloomingburg, NY; two nieces & a nephew: Danielle and Brian Boylan, Diana Stroppel and many friends. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 12 noon until 2pm on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, where a memorial prayer service will be held at 2pm with the Rev. Edward Golding, officiant. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Helen may be made to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, PO Box 88, Delhi, NY 13753
