Obituary of Mary F.L. Shoemaker
Mary F.L. Shoemaker, 68, of Bovina Center passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Mountainside Care Center in Margaretville following a long illness.
Born on August 13, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John and Erika (Koenig) Weber.
Mary was a 1967 graduate of Andes Central School.
She worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a fingerprint clerk in Washington DC during the late 1960's. Mary then worked for several years as a home health aide until her retirement.
Mrs. Shoemaker was married to her husband of over 47 years, Neil R. Shoemaker on April 10, 1969.
Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening and collecting Hummel figurines, especially "Go Boys". Above all the most important thing in her life was her family, Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother.
Besides her husband, Mary is survived by four daughters: Sharon Shoemaker of FL, Shannon Shoemaker of Bovina Center, Shawnon (Steve) Morganstern of Bovina Center and Shirley Shoemaker of Bovina Center; grandchildren: Elsa and D.J. Morganstern both of Bovina Center; two brothers: John Weber of Oneonta and Ed Weber of Bovina Center; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial and celebration of Mary's life will be held in the spring.
