Obituary of Diane R. Robinson

Diane R. Robinson, aka Gertie, GiGi, Momma Tia or Tia’s Mom, 78, peacefully passed away December 21,2024 at her daughter’s house after a courageous battle with cancer.

Through her cancer journey, she taught those around her what it looks like to live bravely and always with joy and a smile. She was known for her trademark spunk and sense of adventure even until the end. 

A longtime resident of Middletown, she was predeceased in death by her husband, Roger, whom she was married to for 51 years.  Born in Walton, NY to George and Yvonne Merwin, Diane was the 4th of 8 children.

Diane is survived by her daughter: Tia (Andy Bullis); siblings: Ralph, Jim (Dawn), Bill (Carla) Merwin, Patricia Pesout (Lou) and Karen Jackson (John);  very special friends: Sharon, Cindy and Bob, Karen and Sayer, Linda, Joe and Megan, Phyllis and Dave, Deb and Bob, Jim, and Jackie and Danno.

She was preceded in death by her sister Celia Cook and brother John Merwin.

Diane’s wishes were to be cremated and have no services.  As we say goodbye today let us remember not only what we've lost but also cherish what we've gained from knowing such an extraordinary soul whose presence enriched our lives immeasurably.
