Obituary of Jacquelyn Ann (Martin) Cook
Jacquelyn Ann (Martin) Cook, 71, was escorted by angels to Heaven on September 14, 2024.
She is now in the arms of Jesus where there is no pain, no more suffering. She’s reunited with her dearly loved and missed parents, Wendell and Erma (Vernooy) Martin.
Jackie was born on September 17, 1952, and graduated from South Kortright Central School in 1970. It was there that she met her devoted husband, Richard A. Cook. They were married for 54 years.
Over the years she had the opportunity to work for the Town of Kortright, Lane Way, Bettiol Fuel and Delaware County as a bookkeeper.
Jackie enjoyed gardening, painting ceramics, crocheting, knitting, sewing, embroidering, and making all her meals from scratch. Some of her greatest memories were raising her children and allowing herself to just be a kid again.
Jackie’s beautiful life will forever be treasured above all, by her husband: Richard A. Cook of South Kortright, her children: Michelle L. Sicari (husband, Sal) of South Kortright, Jessica L. Cook (partner, Jason Meeks) of Oneonta, Victoria R. Sveda (husband, Mike) of Holtsville; her grandchildren: Sydney, Emma, Ava, Lexi, Logan, and Grayson; her brother: Edwin W. Martin (wife, Marie) of South Kortright, her mother-in-law Margaret L. (Beach, Cook) Grant of Hobart, and many other loving family members and friends.
Friends may call from 3pm to 5pm Sunday, October 6th, 2024 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, NY, where a short, Christian service will immediately follow. All are invited to join the family after the service at the Hobart Community Center (Fire Hall) for a reception. Please come and celebrate her life with us!
