Over 60 years ago my cousin, Carolyn was like a big sister to me. We shared secrets and sorrows as late teens and early adults do. She was very kind to me and I have many memories of riding around in Uncle Fritz's beautiful new Ford Fairlane, visiting her friends with her and generally doing "young people things" including roller skating at the Central Presbyterian Church basement roller rink. At that time Carolyn was a partner in a competitive roller skating couple. I was very lucky that she allowed me to accompany her to the rink. She was very much the star as she glided around gracefully moving around the rink in a dance routine or practicing moves in the center area. These are wonderful memories.
Carolyn was always a strong, kind "take charge" kind of person who saw a need and filled it...an angel amongst us. Her commitment to her family and community are a rich legacy. The warmth of her love and strength of her character will continue to be with her family and friends always.
May God bless the family: and, Carolyn, May God hold you in His bosom always.
