Obituary of Michael Grogan

Michael Grogan, 99, of Conesville, NY formerly of Long Island, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday morning, May 2, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Born on November 25, 1924 in Mt. Kisco, NY, Michael was the son of the late Michael and Edith (Sands) Grogan.

Michael proudly served in the US Navy from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1946.

He was married to Lorraine Spagna on May 3, 1958.

Michael retired as head custodian for Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip NY in 1994.

He enjoyed watching football and the news and enjoyed taking walks, but his greatest passion was for his family, Michael was a loving husband and devoted father.

Besides his parents, Michael was predeceased by his siblings: Alice, John, Raymond, James, Frank and Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Lorraine Grogan; his children: Susan A. Grogan of Bayshore, NY and Michael Grogan and son’s girlfriend Beth McLaughlin of West Islip, NY; sister: Caroline Natalie of Conesville; along with three generations of nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:30AM on Monday, July 15, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2 Green Street, Mount Kisco, NY 10549.  Entombment and military honors will be held in August at Long Island National Cemetery.
