Obituary of Sandra D. Trass

Sandra D. Trass, 83, of Meridale, gained her angel wings on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 8, 1940 in Delhi, Sandra was the daughter of the late Clifford and Marjorie (Schulz) Delmarter.

She was a 1958 graduate of Franklin Central School.

Sandra was married on February 16, 1968, to her loving husband of 56 years, Sherman R. Trass in the Meredith Baptist Church.

She was a civil clerk for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in Delhi until her retirement.

Sandra enjoyed her flower gardens, watching the hummingbirds from her back porch, playing pitch, reading and shopping.  She was an independent spirit that could be described as stubborn, feisty, and sassy at times, especially when fighting for things that were important to her.  Her greatest joy and passion was her family, Sandra was a devoted and proud grandmother and great grandmother.

Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her sister: Donna Fazio.

She is survived by her husband: Sherman Trass of Meridale; children: Stuart (Nikki) Trass of Ulster, PA and Stephanie Trass of Delhi; grandchildren: Brian, Andrea, Tanner, Sawyer, Ellie, Shelby (Nick), Tristan, Meredith and Delaney; great-grandchildren: Tessa and Kennedy; and brother: Clifford “Sonny” (Joanne) Delamarter of Seneca Falls, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 12PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at The United Ministry of Delhi, 1 Church Street, Delhi, NY with the Rev. Catherine Schuyler.  Friends are invited to call from 10AM-12PM at the church prior to the service.   Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Meridale, NY.
