Obituary of Harry L. Rockefeller
Harry L. Rockefeller, 87, of Bloomville, passed away early Thursday morning, January 18, 2024.
Born on October 1, 1936, in Bovina, he was the son of the late Guy and Delle (McPherson) Rockefeller.
Harry was a 1955 graduate of South Kortright Central School and went on to proudly serve in the US Army in Germany from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957.
Mr. Rockefeller was married on May 9, 1965, to his wife of over 58 years, Joyce (McIntosh) Rockefeller.
He worked for the Delaware Ulster Railroad and then worked at DMV Nutritional until his retirement.
Harry was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and especially fishing. He also enjoyed sports of cheering on his grandchildren while they played.
Besides his parents, Harry was predeceased by his siblings: Louise, Almiron, Howard, Helen, Glen, William and Guy, Jr.
Harry is survived by his wife: Joyce Rockefeller; children: Lori (Matt) Metzko, Lisa (Scott) Tuttle and Brett (Kelly) Rockefeller; grandchildren: Tanner (Nicole) Metzko, Brandon Tuttle, Griffin Metzko and Tori Rockefeller; great-grandson: Clay Metzko; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Harry’s life will be held from 1-4PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Bloomville Fire Hall, 243 Scotch Hill Road, Bloomville, NY. Where a service and military honors will be held at 1PM.
