Obituary of Lucille Marie Dalpe
Lucille Marie Portelance Dalpe, 97 years old, died July 30, 2023, at Robinson Terrace, Stamford, New York. She was born June 8, 1926, in Timmins, Ontario, Canada.
She is survived by her five children: Vivianne Tait (Richard), Guy Dalpe, Peter Dalpe (Margaret), Mark Dalpe (Eric Walling), and Michael Dalpe (Derek West).
There are seven Grandchildren: Elia Tait Wojno (Adam), Chalya Pudlewski (Joseph), Carrara Tait Knoetgen (Dwayne Pickett), Sarah Sheppard Gagnon (Donald), Winslow Dalpe, Andrew Dalpe and Derek Dalpe. Lucille has three Great-Grandchildren: Heron Lucille Wojno, Elisette Danielle Pudlewski, and Emma Rose Pudlewski.
She is predeceased by her ex-husband, Pierre Dalpe, her sisters/cousins Juliette LaRose and Lucille Vitello.
An avid advocate of education, Lucille insisted that all five of her children attend college. When she entered her fifties, she decided to get a GED so that she had a high school education and she also graduated with a license in Cosmetology. In the 1980s Lucille applied for and received USA citizenship. She was extremely proud of these accomplishments. A homemaker for decades, in her fifties, she entered the workforce and worked until her late seventies. Lucille was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A devout Catholic, she was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish in Stamford, New York.
Always referred to as “feisty,” Lucille will be sorely missed by her family and friends in Stamford.
A mass will be celebrated at 12PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church, Harper Street, Stamford.
