Obituary of Yvonne Rheel

We regret to announce that Yvonne Joan (Wetzel) Rheel of Davenport NY passed away unexpectedly at home on January 1st, 2023, at the age of 58.

She was born on February 23, 1964 to Theodore Wetzel and Lorraine (Morris)Wetzel in Huntington NY.

Yvonne was a wonderful mother, friend, sister, and grandma. She had just started her battle with lung cancer and was ready to fight to still be around for everyone especially her grandkids

She was predeceased by her love and longtime husband Jonathan T Rheel, both of her parents, and her younger sister Bella Jean Wetzel.  

Yvonne leaves behind her loving son Dennis Rheel and his wife Lori, and her 6 grandkids (Dominick, Dustin, Kaleb, Evan, Lily and Jacob). She also leaves behind her brother Arthur Wetzel, her beloved German shepherd Bella, her best friend and sister Lisa Sara and partner Don Vane of Schenevus NY. She also leaves behind her lovely nieces Christina, Morgan and Jessica, her best friend Cindy Esposito, cousins, her husband’s remaining family, and her wonderful friends. 

She went to high school at Half Hollow Hills High School West with her sister and friends. Yvonne transplanted up here in Davenport with Jon and Dennis in 1992. She loved to bake, craft, spend time with family and friends, and work with Kim and the children at Kim's Daycare. She also was a bus driver for a number of years for Charlotte Valley Central School. She loved this job too! She also loved the color purple, turtles, frogs, and dolphins. 

She will be missed by her family, friends, co-workers, and all other people that knew her and had the pleasure of her being in their lives somehow. She was strong-willed and would want everyone she leaves behind to never give up on any battles they may face themselves. 

Yvonne's wishes are to be cremated and have no services so we do apologize for anyone that would have wanted to come express their sympathy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help her family pay her medical and other bills as well as towards her cremation.
