Obituary of Genevieve D. Thompson

Genevieve D. Thompson, 83, of Treadwell, passed away peacefully at her home following a long illness.

Born on January 10, 1939 in Andes, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Daisy (Ingram) Miner.

She was married to James L. Thompson on September 1, 1962 in Andes, NY, James passed away on August 27, 2015.

Genevieve worked in the Cafeteria at Delaware Academy until her retirement.

She was a gifted crafter, sewing, quilting and upholstery were specialties for Genevieve.   She enjoyed reading and cooking, often preparing large meals for her family and friends.

Genevieve is survived by three children: Terry (Glenn Williams) Wood of Meridale; Randy Thompson of Greene and Eric Thompson of Treadwell; grandchildren: Nicole (Tyler) Huyck of Treadwell and Clinton Wood of Treadwell; great-grandchildren: Emma and Abigail Huyck; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Keeping with Genevieve’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
