Obituary of Mary M. Scharman Pasiak

Mary M. Scharman Pasiak, 71, of Delhi, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 2, 1951, in Hamilton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Franz B. and Patricia (Nimmo) Scharman.

Mary graduated from SUNY Morrisville with a nursing degree and worked for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse supervisor most of her career at Fox Hospital Nursing Home in Oneonta. Mary was very dedicated to her nursing profession. A nursing scholarship has been donated in Mary's behalf at Morrisville College. Mary also resided in Palm Beach County, Florida for years continuing her nursing career, and became a real estate agent specializing in selling ocean and intercoastal properties.

She enjoyed gardening, horse racing, birdwatching, travelling, attending auctions, antiquing, and helping in the family antique business.  Mary had a love of animals, having many pets over the years including her canine companion-Buddy.  Mary was dedicated to family and friends, and compassionate about caring for others.

Mary is survived by her children: Robin Pasiak (Ross Benson) and grandson Dasch Benson of Lansing, NY; Jason Pasiak (Maria Strite) and granddaughters Alyvia Pasiak, Katelyn Pasiak of Woodsboro, MD; Roxanne Liddle (Jason Fisk) of Delhi, NY; three siblings: Franz J. Scharman (Jennifer) of Bouckville, Therese Scharman of Oneida and Rita Scharman of Sherrill; the father of her children: Lewis Pasiak; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Mary will be missed by many lifelong friends including Pauline Lodor, Judy Corey, Carol Miller, and Bonnie (Jim) Weibel.

Burial and grave side prayers will be on Monday, October 3,2022 at 12:00pm, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hamilton, NY.  A celebration of Mary’s life will follow immediately after prayer at the Colgate Inn.
