Obituary of Danielle Mullinnex Smith
"Gone too soon but we loved you enough for a lifetime"
Danielle, beloved daughter and sister passed away in her home unexpectedly on Saturday 5/28/22. She is survived by her loving parents, James and Kathy Mullinnex, her sister Jessica Mullinnex-Rusin (Stash Rusin), her therapy cat Luna, her Grandmother Laura Mullinnex, a special Great Aunt Marge Houck, her Uncle Billy Flamensfeld and Uncle Steve White of New York, her Uncle Craig and Steve Mullinnex of Texas and has several cousins in NY, NJ and Texas.
Danielle was a gentle soul, who cheered for the underdog and helped people whenever she could. She enjoyed expressing herself through art, funky hairstyles, car karaoke and silly dance moves. She enjoyed country music, Jack Daniels and time spent around animals. She could be found laughing with family and friends and was often a social butterfly on her own terms. She was drawn to Marilyn Monroe, collected owls and thought ice cream should be its own food group. She loved a good movie and often watched her favorites on repeat. She attended a few colleges, but Cazenovia and SUNY Delhi will always hold a special place in her heart. She was a member of the ZDT sorority, sharing many fun times with her "sisters", many who she stayed in touch with years after graduation. She saw the ocean for the first time in Fall 2021 and was blow away by just how relaxing the waves were in real life.
A private celebration of life will be held for close family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to the Heart of the Catskills in Delhi and the Elm Park United Methodist Church in Oneonta.
