Obituary of Elsie Skovsende

Elsie Skovsende, 84, of Andes, New York passed away suddenly at home on Monday, May 2, 2022.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 7, 1938, the daughter of the late William and Kathe (Anderson) Meyer.

 In 1957 she married her husband Viggo “Joe” Skovsende, a union that lasted nearly 60 years until Joe’s passing in 2015. Elsie and Joe settled on their dairy farm in Andes on Rte. 28 where they would raise their family of 5 daughters. She loved the time spent with her family and enjoyed times spent at the casino.  Elsie was dedicated to keeping a neat home and farm, and she enjoyed mowing her 5-acre lawn.

Elsie is survived by her daughters, Susan, Sharon, Joan, Judith and Stephanie; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a brother: Fritz; sister: Kathe; and many nieces nephews and friends.

At Elsie’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services, Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Andes Cemetery, Andes, New York.
