Obituary of William F. McLean, Jr.
William F. McLean, Jr., 67, of East Meredith, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital following a long illness.
Born on June 25, 1954 in Delhi, He was the son of the late William and Belle (McGraw) McLean.
William proudly served in the US Army from 1971-1973.
He worked at local dairy farms, first at Eklund Farm in Stamford and William retired from Marick Farms in East Meredith.
William enjoyed playing video poker, watching baseball, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Football, cheering on the NY Giants. He also enjoyed deer hunting.
Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his wife Sarah McLean earlier this year.
He is survived by his children: William (Nikita) McLean of Sidney, Ashley (Matt Olsen) McLean of East Meredith and Matthew McLean of Oneonta; son-in-law: Dan Roe of East Meredith; grandchildren: Michael, Brandon, Destiny, Daniel, Aidreanna, Jayden, Lila, Chase and Catch; sisters: Carol (William) Moxham of Delhi, Cathy (John) Sobers of Oneonta and Gail (John) Sola of Dayton, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, 21 Second Street, Delhi with the Rev. Jeff Staples. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Bloomville, everyone is invited to join with the family after the burial at the First Baptist Church hall.
