Obituary of Francis Cotten

Francis C. Cotten, 67, of Hobart, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Born on December 13, 1953 in Oneonta, NY, he was the son of the late Richard Cotten and Florence “Betty” Rathbone.

Mr. Cotten worked for Mountainside Farms in Roxbury for many years until his retirement.

Francis was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing.  He also enjoyed in his younger years playing golf and bowling.

He is survived by his sons: Timothy (Tara) Cotten of Rensselear and Michael Cotten of Jefferson; grandchildren: Sydney and Lena; sisters: Dorothy Johnson of Jefferson and Alice Canfield of Davenport Center; a brother: Roy Cotten of Binghamton; the mother of his children: Julie Cotten of Jefferson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm on July 23, 2021 at the Hobart Community Center.
