Obituary of Wanda B. Dibble

Wanda B. Dibble, 92, formerly of East Meredith, passed away at Chestnut Park Nursing Home in Oneonta on January 19, 2020 where she had been a resident since April 2018. Born on September 2, 1927 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Arthur H. and Maude (Stoutenburg) Smith. Wanda was married to William Dibble who passed away on January 16, 1997. She worked at SUNY Oneonta for several years, until her retirement and spent may years at her home in East Meredith. Wanda loved having family and friends over for the Holidays and anytime to enjoy a great meal, lots of laughs and usually a card game or two. She also enjoyed knitting and made a large variety of gifts for family and friends. Wanda was also a kind person, often helping other whenever she could. Wanda is survived by many cousins and numerous friends, all will miss her dearly. Many will remember the 70th Birthday party held at the East Meredith Fire Hall where a great time was had by all. A memorial and celebration of Wanda’s life will be held at 3PM on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Davenport United Methodist Church, 15696 State Highway 23, Davenport. Friends and relatives are invited to call one hour prior from 2-3PM at the Church. Burial at Stamford Cemetery in the Spring.
