Obituary of Erika Baldauf
Erika Baldauf, 81, of Delhi formerly of DeLancey, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 8, 2019 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford.
Born on February 23, 1937 in Neubrandenburg, Germany, the daughter of the late Bruno and Wanda Bauer.
In her younger years, Erika performed missionary work in Germany. She was married to John Baldauf on April 6, 1960 and she and John moved to the family farm in DeLancey, Erika assisted with the operation of the Dairy farm for 46 years.
She enjoyed gardening, both flower and vegetable gardening and took great pride in their care, often canning and freezing the harvest of her work. Erika was also a gifted quilter and knitter.
Erika was a steadfast in her faith and was active in her church callings, serving as a Visiting Teacher, President of the Relief Society, Sunday School Teacher and Librarian. He faith was ever present in her home as well, Erika was a true Mother in Zion, her children were her career.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Baldauf in 1999.
Erika is survived by her children: Andrew Baldauf, Sonja Heart, Steven Baldauf, Sharon Madero, Kevin Baldauf and Darrell Baldauf; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 5-7 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, Delview Terrace Ext., Delhi. Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Hamden Cemetery.
