Obituary of Evelyn Vivian (Bettiol) Weidmann

Evelyn Vivian (Bettiol) Weidmann, formerly of Loudonville NY, passed away on November 29th, 2018 at the age of 85 years. She was born June 24th, 1933 in Kortright, New York.

Evelyn is survived by son Kurt (Courtney), and their children Campbell and Augusta; and son, Brian (Lisa) and their children Ian and Emma. She is also survived by brother Edward Bettiol (Carol) and sister Helen Herrmann (Jack). She is predeceased by her husband David Joseph Weidmann.

Evelyn graduated high school from Stamford Central in 1950 and continued on to complete an Associates Degree from the State University of New York (Cobleskill) in 1952. She worked in the test kitchen of Borden Dairy Company and helped run the Syracuse University student dining facility. Later in life, she was a property manager. Evelyn lived modestly, but enjoyed travel to Italy several times starting in 1959 with her sister Helen. She had a passion for Notre Dame football and Siena basketball.

Evelyn was devoted to her family. Remarkably, she passed away on the birthday of her beloved mother Dora, whom she looked after for many years. She revered her parents Victor and Dora, who raised their children with the practical virtues of Italian immigrant farmers that survived the challenges of the Great Depression. Although she lived most of her life in New York State, Evelyn felt blessed to spend her final years in a supportive community of family and friends in Roseville, California. She leaves behind loved ones across the country that will remember her generosity, practicality, spirit, and gratitude.
