Obituary of Lloyd V. Johnson, Jr.

Lloyd V. Johnson, Jr., 85, of Delhi, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.

Born on May 14, 1933 in Meridale, Lloyd was the son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy Johnson, Sr.

Lloyd grew up on the family farm on Hollister Hill and became the owner of DLJ Morgan Farm, where he operated a dairy of primarily Holstein and Jersey breeds. Lloyd also enjoyed spending time at the garage with his nephew John Shephard.  In his earlier years Lloyd had a passion for showing horses, his favorite show horse being Mr. Sharp.  He also enjoyed playing the guitar and his children fondly remember the sing-a-longs in their youth.

Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his children: Lloyd V. Johnson, III and Melanie Cammisa; and two sisters: Eleanor and Helen.

He is survived by the love of his life: Theresa Shedd of Delhi; children: Melissa (Tony) Martin of CT, Margaret Potuck of KY, Lillian “Lambie” Johnson of CT and Louis Johnson of Oxford; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy and Renee; many nieces, nephews cousins and close friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to call from 4-6PM on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main St., Delhi, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday with Bert More officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Meridale.
