Obituary of Madeline E. Borow

Madeline Elinor (Sylvander) Borow, 95, of Delhi, passed away on September 26, 2018 at Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Delhi.

Born on September 25, 1923 in Springfield Gardens, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanora (Lang) Sylvander.

Madeline married Stanley John Borow on January 13, 1945 at the Presbyterian Church in Springfield Gardens, NY.  They purchased a summer home in Bovina during the 1960’s and moved permanently to Delhi in 1981.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  Madeline was also very active in church activities and enjoyed gardening, sewing and crafts.

Madeline was predeceased by her husband Stan in 2006; a granddaughter: Abby Borow Ezero in 2009; and her sisters: Lydia Nealis and Grace Faber Meyer.

Mrs. Borow is survived by a daughter: Nancy (Kevin) Lee; her son: Robert (Lynne) Borow; grandson: Peter (Tara) Robinson) Gioffe of Delhi; granddaughters: Deborah Borow of Sierra Vista, AZ and Dianna (Rich) DePonto of White Plains, NY; great-grandchildren: Trent Kathmann, Connor and Brenna Gioffe, Lydia, Natalee, Juliana and Brynlee Dennison and Liam Ezero.

A celebration of Madeline’s life will be celebrated at 3PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Delhi with the Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Madeline may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 4 Clinton Street, Delhi, NY 13753.
