Obituary of John C. Antes

John C. Antes, 87, of Delhi, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, August 14, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Born on October 10, 1930 in Hoboken, NJ, John was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Antes.

He proudly served in the US Navy from 1948-1952.

John married Lois Antes on January 21, 1956 in Ramsey, NJ. John and Lois moved form New Jersey to the Delhi area in the 1960’s to raise their family.

Mr. Antes was a self-employed contractor and talented carpenter, he built several homes in the Delhi area.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Turkey Federation.  He was an active member of the American Legion, Donald W. Gleason Post #190, Delhi.

He is survived by his wife: Lois Antes of Delhi; daughter: JoAnn Antes of Delhi; grandchildren: Jessica (Christopher) Cass of Minnesota and Miranda (Dani) Antes of Massachusetts; and a great-grandchild: Finley Cass of Minnesota.

At John’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.  Arrangements are with Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi.

John’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care and Joan Khouzam-Roberts for their special care of John during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society or to Delhi EMS.
