My condolences to David's family. I worked during the summers during the 1950's for the Gielski family, as did my brother Gary. I remember David and his brother Frank as the business-minded gentlemen of the family then.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. David was my brother's best friend for the first 14 years of their lives. My granddaughter made this comment once."I know Forrest is my cousin, but he is my FRIEND". That sums up Ivan's and David's relationship. Of course, he was often at our home for Sunday dinner as that was a custom we had.

Those boys had Miss Lynch as teacher at Holmes Hollow and celebrated when they were to go to Delhi as no more Miss Lynch. She was their teacher there. Next celebration was that they would be in Junior High. So was Miss Lynch as social studies teacher. They expected her in high school and laughed.

David always made us welcome when we returned to New York for visits. I had moved to Iowa by the time he came to MO, and was sorry to have missed them. We communicated with Xmas cards and the occasional phone call. I have good memories of David. He did well in life.
