Condolences
My condolences to the family. May God strengthen and comfort you with his promise of the resurrection. Acts 24:15.
To the family of Charlotte and Heinz,
I just learned of Charlotte's death today, the 28th, when a friend mentioned that brother John had called at my home, the Saphouse on Hanford Road. I'm in Florida and regret I can't be there for the funeral tomorrow. Kathmann Family Facebook announcements don't get to me - some mystery of the internet - so this was my first notice. (And Brother John doesn't call or email before he appears.)
I have some memory of Charlotte and Heinz's wedding in 1954, many memories of the couple at their farm, and an especially fond memory of their visiting in Central New Hampshire where I was working at Canterbury Shaker Village in the mid- to late 1980s (can't remember the date) in their camper with Cousin Erna. Do I have this all straight? A family member will have to tell me.
Charlotte, an attractive woman, always had a special grace - and a directness in conversation that I admired and appreciated. And it was always a pleasure at family reunions over the decades to encounter the handsome family that she and Heinz produced.
I'm sorry I can't be with you all tomorrow to grieve, to console with memories, smiles and tears, and to celebrate Charlotte's life.
Love to you, her immediate family, her brother John, and to the Kathmann clan.
Richard Kathmann, Belleview, FL, Thursday, Dec. 28, 10pm. via the miracle and mystery of the internet.
Our deepest sympathies. You are in our thoughts. We will miss Aunt Charlotte and her kindness and love.
Love, Pam and Robert
