Edward Commandeur, Jr. was my a voice of reason in the neighborhood at Crestmont Rd. in West Orange. He could be found staining his Natural Cedar shingles or making fishing flies for his next fishing trip. He would drive us to Sunday School and talk with us about hunting and the outdoors. If we caught a small lizzard or animal, he would take the time to look at it and explain or talk about them. He was a good example to me and my friends. He was unwavering and had a good heart. He was also known as the "Silver Fox" to us youngsters. A complete life, a good life. RIP Mr. Commandeur, I thank God for people like Edward Commandeur in my life.

Edward Commandeur Jr. was a special person in my mother's life, Judith (Greene) Besso, as was his father, Edward Commandeur Sr. I remember fondly the times we would visit the farm, go fishing in the trout pond, and watch the fireflies on a summer night.

My condolences for your loss, I raised a glass in his honor with close friends last night.
