Obituary of Gail T. Morgan
Gail T. Morgan, 70, of Delhi passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 27, 2016 at Fox Hospital Nursing Home in Oneonta.
Born on January 11, 1946 in Rockville Centre, she was the daughter of the late J.H. William and Ethel (Uhlig) Tietjen.
Gail attended school in Oyster Bay until 8th grade and her family moved to Delhi. She was a 1964 graduate of Delaware Academy and graduated from SUNY Delhi with a degree in Secretary Science.
In the past Gail had worked as a secretary for SUNY Delhi, First Presbyterian Church, Delhi, the Delaware Co. Historical Society and from 1996 until her retirement in March of 2016 she spent 20 years as a secretary and bookkeeper for Rehabilitation Support Services (RSS) in Walton.
Gail was a huge advocate for people with disabilities, she was on the Board of Delaware Co. ARC for 6 years, spent 4 years on the NYS ARC Board of Governors, was Coordinator for the ARC Bike-a-thon and was currently on the Guardianship Committee, a position she has had for the past 25 years.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, spending time with her family and friends, and planning outings and traveling with her son, Garett. She also was a Sunday School Teacher.
Besides her parents, Gail was predeceased by her brother: William "Bill" Tietjen; and her fiancée: Frank Rogienski.
She is survived by a daughter: Kara Morgan Neer; one son: Garett Morgan; nieces: Laurie (James) Aitkin, Wendy (Thomas) Tietjen-Ladlee, and Cindy (John) Lynn.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 1-2PM on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Delhi, where a funeral service will follow at 2PM with the Rev. Sarah Hooker, officiating. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.
