Obituary of Mary Catherine Gordon

Mary Catherine Gordon, 70, of Hobart, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, August 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 21, 1946 in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Kathleen (Hance) Gordon. Mary worked for several years for Red Apple Convenience Store in Oneida, retiring as store manager. She had a great sense of humor and also had a bit of sassy disposition, Mary was an individual and lived her life to the fullest on her own terms. She enjoyed spending time at home, often knitting. She also liked to dance, even in recent years as she wasn't as mobile as in the past she kept her independence with the aid of her "Walker". Mary enjoyed living in the small town of Hobart recently. She the mother to her three loving children: Tracy L. Paige of Hobart, Donna M. (Bill) Lange of Worcester, and Chris Wilder of Laurel, DE; "Scary" grandma to: Robert, David, Kristin, Christopher, Kellyann, Nicholas, Joey and Stephanie; grandma to her "special" grandchildren: Kathleen, Jimmy and Doug; great-grandma of: Lylarose, Abee and Zane; sister to: Bobby, Cindy, Gloria, Donna and Sharmane; she is also survived by her god daughter: Tabitha and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her grandson: Anthony Banhart; and a brother: Joseph Hance. Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of Mary's life from 5-8PM on Sat. September 24, 2016 at Donna and Bill's home, 315 Draper Hill Rd., Worcester, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30PM with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating.
