Obituary of Norma K. Cook
Norma K. Cook, 85, of Stamford, passed away on Monday evening, September 5, 2016 at AO Fox Hospital in Oneonta, following a short illness.
Born on May 9, 1931 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Lottie (Cooper) Kille.
She was married to her loving husband of 63 years, Claude R. Cook on December 26, 1953.
Mrs. Cook was Book Keeper for Prospect Farms in Stamford for many years, and was then employed as an Account Clerk for ONC BOCES until her retirement.
Norma enjoyed baking and cooking and was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, as all the "Kids" knew to go to the cookie jar upon arriving at the house. She was an active and devoted member to Harpersfield United Methodist Church and the Stamford United Methodist Church. Above all Norma's greatest joy was her family, she was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother and great-grandmother.
Besides her husband, Claude of Stamford, Norma is survived by her children: Claudia (Keith) Bell of Harpersfield, Donna (Bo) LeRoy of Stamford and Michael (Denise) Cook of Amsterdam; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Grace), Sarah (Shawn), Betsy, Robert (Maggie), Allyson, Michael and Ashton; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 2PM on Saturday, September 17 at the Stamford United Methodist Church, 88 Main Street, Stamford, with Lay Pastor Karen Ogborn officiating.
